Job Description
Kiwa ASI is seeking experienced GFSI Food Safety Auditors to conduct contract-based audits for agriculture, food manufacturing, storage & distribution, food packaging, and dietary supplement facilities. The auditor will evaluate compliance with the applicable GFSI Schemes (SQF, BRC, IFS, FSSC, etc.), food safety regulations, and industry standards to ensure the highest levels of food safety and quality. This role requires strong knowledge of food safety management systems, regulatory requirements, and audit methodologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit Coordination & Planning
- Work with the scheduling team to schedule and confirm audit dates with clients
- Book travel, hotel, and transportation to and from audits
- Prepare for audit by reviewing past audit reports and corrective actions
Audit Services
- Conduct audits using applicable checklists, forms, and audit tools
- Assess compliance with GFSI, FDA, USDA, and industry best practices
- Maintain a positive client relationship and respond to all client inquiries or concerns
- Communicate audit findings effectively with client representatives
- Submit complete and accurate audit reports within established timelines
- Review and approve corrective actions and root cause analysis
Maintaining Compliance
- Adhere to all Kiwa ASI policies and code of conduct, including confidentiality and impartiality
- Represent Kiwa ASI is a professional and ethical manor
- Attend monthly and/or quarterly calibration meetings
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations and industry standards
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in food safety, food science, agriculture, biology, or related field
- At minimum, 1 year experience in third- or second-party food safety auditing
- Accredited 16 hour HACCP Course and/or PCQI Certificate
- 40-hour Lead Auditor training
- Other GFSI Scheme (SQF, BRC, IFS, FSSC, etc.) specific training as required
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Experience with third-party certification processes
- Strong understanding of food microbiology, sanitation, pest control, and other food safety related requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
- Strong audit report writing skills
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Audit Management Systems
- MUST be willing to travel!!!
